General Awareness Courses


The courses developed within the Centre are:
- Overview of Parallel Architectures and Methodologies.
- Tiny and 3L language on the Parsys.
- CSTOOLS on the Meiko.
- Fortran Programming on the DAP array processor.
- Vector processing using the Cray Tools.

Parts of these courses have been adopted and given as modules within architectural courses both at Queen's and the University of Ulster, and the MSc course in computational physics at Queen's. The formal lectures and practical materials were developed within the Parallel Computer Centre. The lectures are currently given by staff from the Parallel Computer Centre, however, the practical sessions, using the materials produces, are now under the control of demonstrators for the individual departments.
