Work
Responsible for the PCC projects group. These projects include the Integrated Performance Support System for a Workstation Cluster, Integrated Performance Support System for Cray Queuing Environment and the Parallel Data Format Conversion of Ordnance Survey Data.

Richard is a member of the Cray User Support team and is secretary of UK Cray EL User Group. Richard also has joint management of the High Performance Computing Research group and is thus jointly responsible for the HPC research activities conducted in the PCC. His own research interests are in the areas of Auto-parallelization and Load Balancing for multiprocessor machines.

Hobbies
Richard has a strong interest in mountain climbing and is heavily involved with the Queen's Mountaineering club.
