HPC Training and Education Centre
Equipment
As part of the funding for the Training and Education Centre DENI have
provided £70k for provision of a workstation cluster. The University have
added £30k to make the total capital investment of £100k. The cluster will
be connected by an ATM, FDDI or some other fast network switch. Factors
affecting advancements in hardware and software are related to the :
- dominant architecture
- software to harness available power
- vendor viability
