Training and Education Centre (TEC)
The High Performance Computer (HPC) Centre Training and Education Centre (TEC)
forms part of the Parallel Computer Centre (PCC). The TEC aims to raise the a
wareness and use of HPC in a range of academic disciplines where this
technology is applicable but has not yet been adopted and to assist existing
users of HPC to use their computing experience effectively and efficiently
TEC is also of considerable importance to all users of HPC equipment , from the
novice computer user to the expert user, that there is a comprehensive support
service which cannot only act as an advisory and troubleshooting service but
can also provide a well informed up to date consultancy service for both
hardware and software acquisition.
Three key areas have been identified to define the basic role of a HPC TEC,
these are Outreach,
Courses and Support services.
Here
is a brief look at the future of the HPC Training and Education Centre.
